Oral Histories: Share Your Story

What we do

To accomplish our ongoing mission to respectfully interpret the history of the Diné (Navajo) and Ndé (Mescalero Apache) during the United States government’s campaign of ethnic persecution in the 1860s, it is critical that we leave space for tribal community voice. This program focuses on preserving and expanding our oral history collections to educate through tribal partnerships; research on the history and prevention of cultural genocide; and global outreach through the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience.

By contributing to this archive, you give your permission for any photographs, audio, and/or visual media made during this project to be used by researchers and the public for educational purposes including, but not limited to publications, exhibitions, the World Wide Web, and presentations. By giving your permission for use, you do not give up your right to request that the oral history be withdrawn at any time, should you feel it is not representative of your wants or needs.
